Qui êtes-vous, Tommy?

Tommy is a 1975 musical directed by Ken Russell. It is based on the Who's rock opera album released in 1969. A large number of famous artists like Elton John, Tina Turner, Jack Nickolson, Eric Clapton contributed with their singing and acting performances in the film whereas the Who’s singer, Roger Daltrey, holds the leading male part. Pete Townshed was nominated for an Oscar for his music adaptation for Tommy and Ann Marget - nominated for Best Actress - received a Golden Globe award. The film has everything from conspiracies and drugs to pinball obsessees and cults. As a child Tommy finds out that his uncle and mother murdered his father. Instead of seeking revenge as a modern Hamlet, Tommy goes into a tremendous shock that leaves him unable to react to all sorts of stimuli for years. The film concludes with a famous Who song and Tommy having eventually gained freedom and self awareness.
